(Atlantic) Atlantic Activities Director and Assistant Principal Andy Mitchell announced at Wednesday’s School Board meeting that the Iowa High School Athletic Union selected sophomore Claire Pellett to serve on the Union’s Student Advisory Committee.
“For the next two years, Claire will be part of this committee, and they’ll meet twice a year,” said Mitchell. “The committee will talk about what’s going on with the Iowa Girl’s High School Athletic Union from a student athlete’s perspective and talk about what they’re seeing and what they would like to happen.”
Mitchell says Pellett and the other student advisory committee members will serve as helpers at all state events. He says the duties include escorting game officials and escorting teams: moving signs, greeters, and more.
Mr. Mitchell says Claire is a “great fit” for this committee.
