Original Story:
The three-vehicle accident occurred at around 6:01 a.m. on Highway 25 south of 160th Street. 60-year-old Julie Compton, of Bridgewater, was killed in the accident. Serena Sims, Julie Holmes of Bridgewater, and David Nail of Corning, were all transported to the Adair County Memorial Hospital by EMS. Serena Sims was driving a 2002 Ford Explorer southbound on Highway 25. David Nail was driving a 2012 Buick Regal northbound. Sims lost control and crossed the centerline and struck Nail’s vehicle head-on. Sims’ vehicle came to rest on the east shoulder. Nail’s vehicle spun and came to rest in the middle of the roadway. A 2015 Dodge Journey, driven by Dale Zoubek, of Katy, Texas, came over the hill after the collision and was unable to stop due to the snow covered road and struck the rear of Nails’ vehicle.
