Jason was born on July 11, 1982, the son of Thomas and Linda (Wedemeyer) Eilts. He attended school in Anita and graduated with the class of 2001. Jason was baptized on August 22, 1982, and confirmed on March 23, 1997, at First Lutheran Church just south of Wiota, IA. His confirmation Bible Verse was Romans 1: 16 ” I am not ashamed of the Gospel – it is the power of God for the Salvation of everyone who believes”.
After graduation, Jason worked for several farmers in the area. In 2017 he started working at the Anita Vet Clinic and helping at the Anita and Massena Livestock Auctions. Jason’s biggest passion was livestock. Jason and his dad could sit for hours and discuss many topics in the livestock industry. He enjoyed reading many cattle magazines keeping up on the latest reports and articles. Jason was always around to help his folks on his days off and after hours. Whether it was pulling calves, working cattle, hauling grain, or just to simply let them know that, “they are doing it wrong”! Jason had a huge heart with a great sense of humor, he always made people laugh. He often would ask a person, “Can I give you a hug”. He was well-loved and will be missed by so many family and friends.
Jason is survived by his parents, Tom and Linda Eilts of Wiota; sister Jess (TJ) Barber of Wiota; his daughters Karley and Briauna of Dexter; grandparents Dean and Virginia Eilts of Wiota; niece Lilly Barber, nephews Drew and AJ Barber all of Wiota; and several aunts, uncles; special friend Lynnette Herrick of Wiota and family Shane, Shianne, Trevor, and Jarrad.
