(Guthrie Center) Scott Suhr, District Planner for the Iowa Department of Transportation, is in the process of scheduling a public involvement meeting for the Highway 25 project south of Guthrie Center.
Suhr says the public involvement meeting will show the project layout and detour route during construction of the east-west portion of the project. “The roadway is rough from carrying a lot of truck traffic traveling to and from the ethanol plant,” said Suhr.
Suhr says the east-west portion of the project will be concrete paving. The north-south portion of Highway 25 from White Pole Road to Interstate 80 will be an asphalt overlay.
Suhr says the DOT originally scheduled the Highway 25 project for 2023; however additional federal funds allow the DOT to move some of these projects forward into the fiscal year 2022.
