(Atlantic) The Atlantic School District celebrated National Bus Driver Appreciation Day this past week.
The School Bus Driver Appreciation Day is celebrated yearly on February 22. The recognition is all about appreciating school bus drivers for being good Samaritans to children who go to school every day.
Atlantic Schools Superintendent Steve Barber says the district celebrated its’ bus drivers with photos, social media posts, and cinnamon rolls. “We often underestimate what they do for our district,” said Barber. “It’s a great culture, they’re all business, safety is number one, getting these students here and back.
“The bus drivers are important to the development of our kids because; they are the first person they see in the morning and the last person they see when they get off the bus at night.”
Steve Barber says the Atlantic School Bus Drivers have high expectations, and the district is blessed to have them.
