(Pleasantville) Elliot Cooney, Jaxon Christensen, and Caelen DeVault are head to the state wrestling tournament. The Nodaway Valley/O-M trio advanced out of the Pleasantville District Tournament on Saturday.
Cooney won a 132 pound title. He won both of his matches by fall. Christensen was the runner-up at 138. His day included win by fall in the semifinals along with a loss by decision to I-35’s Ryan Steinlage in the finals. Caelen DeVault needed a wrestleback to advance at 182. DeVault pinned his first opponent, lost a major decision in the finals, and responded with a decision victory in the wrestleback.
