(Harlan) The Shelby County Board of Supervisors met in an organizational session Monday morning.
According to the meeting minutes, the Supervisors approved Steve Kenkel as Chairman of the Board and Charles Parkhurst as the Vice-Chairman. The Board will continue to hold regular meetings on the first and third Tuesday of each month.
The Supervisors approved a resolution appointing Deputy County Officials for the 2022 Calendar year: Marcus Gross, Jr. County Attorney, Assistants: Todd Argotsinger and Ashely West as well as Jennifer Mumm. Neil Gross Sheriff, Deputies: Cody Eckles, Kelly Lefeber, Chad Butler, William McDaniel, Glenn Birks, Nathan Pigsley, Braden Quist, Jacob Hoss, Nathan Tibbets and Colin Weaver.
Bryce Schaben was appointed as Weed Commissioner and Dennis Jarett was appointed to the Conservation Board. Scott Markham was appointed as County Medical Examiner (the doctor on call will act in the Medical Examiner’s absence).
The Supervisors set the mileage reimbursement rate at $ .585.
The Board made a number of appointments to boards and approved resolutions concerning non-discrimination; Economic Development Public Purpose Statement; Authorizing a Partnership with Southwest Iowa Housing Trust Fund; and Shelby County Depositories.
