(Afton) Two people suffered injuries in a two-vehicle accident in Afton.
The Union County Sheriff’s Office says the accident happened at 5:50 p.m. on Saturday on Highway 169. EMS Air transported 17-year old Terence Sheley of Lenox to Greater Regional Medical Center in  Creston, and a parent transported 18-year old Raenna Price of Afton to the same hospital.
The report says a 1998 Volvo semi-driven by 40-year old Chad Michael Pontier, of Osceola, pulled away from the stop sign on Railroad Street and did not see a northbound Chevy Impala driven by Price. The semi struck the Impala on the passenger side.
The Impala received $5,000 damage, and the semi sustained $2,500 damage.
