(Villisca) A box truck caused damage to the Villisca Post Office building this morning.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office received a report of the accident at 500 S 3rd Avenue in Villisca at 8:14 a.m. Frederick Adams, 60, of Greensboro, North Carolina, had been operating a 2016 International box truck, owned by Ryder Truck Rental Inc., and had entered the parking lot at the Villisca Post Office, striking the canopy attached to the west side of the building.
The contact caused $4,000 damage to the cargo box on the truck and an estimated $15,000 damage to the building owned by the United States Postal Service.
There were no injuries and no citations were issued.
