(Atlantic) Year after year, people come to the Atlantic Public Library to purchase used books during the Friends of the Libraries book sale. The group is planning another three-day sale starting this week.
Ken Moorman of the Friends of the Library organization says the Atlantic Public Library collects these books from the community and re-sells them for .25, .50 cents, and $1.00. The books are alphabetized and sorted into 25-to-30 different categories.
Moorman says the sale generates around $2,000, and all the money raised from this event goes back into the library fund and the annual shred day.
There are 2,000 books for sale again this year, and Moorman says the event gets bigger and bigger every year.
The book sale is from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. starting on Wednesday, October 20, and 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., on Thursday and Friday, and 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Moorman did point out there will be something special coming up on Saturday.
