(Griswold) On Monday night, a group working to secure a daycare facility in Griswold presented an updated plan to the school board.
Griswold Schools Superintendent Dave Henrichs says the group secured close to nine acres of land next to the school’s bus barn. The architectural drawings are complete for the estimated two-million-dollar facility, and the group is in the process of raising funds.
The goal is to start construction late this spring or early summer. Henrichs says moving forward; the group would like to partner with the school
Henrichs and the board feels this is a massive benefit for the community and the school district, noted by an open enrollment report on why students are availably enrolling out.
Henrichs says 79-students currently are open enrolling out, the same as one year ago, and 22-students are open enrolling in, an increase of three students from last school year. Henrichs says they’re making progress. When daycare becomes more accessible to the community, they hope to see the open enrollment out numbers go down even more.
