(Atlantic) The Cass County Board of Supervisors this (Tuesday) morning approved a 28E project agreement between Cass County and the City of Atlantic for the repair of the bridge on W 6th Street over the Nishnabotna River.
Engineer Trent Wolken said half of this bridge is located in the City limits and the other half in the County and it has deteriorated to a three ton weight limit. This rehabilitation project will cost around $410,000. The City and County will each share 50% of the cost.
In other news, Wolken said the Boston Road bridge should be ready to open soon, but there has been some scheduling issues with the sub-contractor to install the guardrails.
Meanwhile, Wolken said the box culvert on Victoria Road near the Adair/Cass line is essentially complete and grading work is being done on that, and they continue to work on the box culvert on Indian Creek.
Wolken also noted that the Olive Street bridge is expected to open later today. He said he will send out a notice when the bridge is officially open.
