(Atlantic) A meeting will be held in early October to discuss Sunnyside pool upgrades.
Bryant Rasmussen, Director, told the Parks and Recreation Board Monday night that he has had four different companies come in and do a walkthrough of the pool to look at all of the different options they could have, whether it be a splash pad or other upgrades. He said several different designs have been started so they can present those to the public and gather input.
The meeting is set for Monday, October 4th. The time and location of the meeting will be released soon.
In other activity, the Parks and Recreation Board approved a motion to take over running the Sunnyside Pool and no longer have a Memorandum with the YMCA to run it. Rasmussen said this would help to pay the lifeguards some extra money, but the lifeguards would also be expected to take on some extra duties.
Rasmussen also noted that construction is done on the Schildberg Recreation Area trail. However, Rasmussen said he met with Heuton Construction who stated there was a little more dirt work than what was necessary that they had remove and add in and so their recommendation was that they wait until spring to replace that trail to allow the dirt to settle. Rasmussen said he is working to get on the calendar with some concrete workers to get the trail finished as soon as possible in the spring.
