(Griswold) Griswold’s Aiden Kennedy will be our featured guest at halftime of the KSOM football broadcast between Griswold and Stanton/Essex on Friday.
Kennedy is being honored as KSOM’s Unsung Hero in Week 4. The junior is in his first year of playing at the varsity level. “I enjoy the sport. I’ve always loved it. I just like being out there and being part of the team. What makes me really put in all that work is the urgency to win. We haven’t had the best of seasons, but I feel like if we keep fighting and going how we are going we can definitely change that.” He says the players talk about getting a win on a daily basis in the locker room. Their last victory was during Week 7 of the 2018 season.
Kennedy believes strength and conditioning coach Heath Larsen is making a big impact, “I think he kind of gives up hope. He’s always the one on the sideline encouraging us and telling us to keep going. He’s so proactive in our sports and I feel like if we didn’t have him we’d just fall.”
Griswold head coach Chase Wallace says Kennedy gets a lot of playing time, but not a ton of praise. He describes Kennedy as a hard worker and good leader who stays after practice to improve his skills.
