(Avoca) AHSTW junior Parker Weirich was described by Viking coach GG Harris as a very coachable, hard-working player. Weirich will be a guest at halftime of KSOM’s broadcast featuring SW Valley at AHSTW.
Weirich says his goal on the scout team is to give the varsity the best look that they can. He loves being a part of the AHSTW football tradition. “I watched my cousin play football for the Vikings. Whether you are on or off the field it’s just an amazing tradition. It’s an amazing feeling. I’ve always wanted to do it since I was a little kid. Being able to put on the jersey and the horns on the helmet, it’s an amazing feeling.”
He would encourage any young players to consider football. “It’s an amazing sport and culture to be a part of. If you’re thinking going out for football, by all means do it. It’s all about the effort you put into the sport. So if you put in 110% you’ll get a whole lot.” Weirich describes himself as an undersized lineman who uses his quickness to get off the ball.
