Ronald Wayne Mundorf, the son of G. Byron and Edith May (DeKay) Mundorf, was born August 16, 1943, in Red Oak, IA. Ron died July 21, 2021, at the Methodist Hospital in Omaha, NE, at the age of 77 years, 11 months, and 5 days.
Ron attended school at Alexander and Waveland country schools, before graduating from Griswold High School with the class of 1961. On July 18, 1964, Ron was united in marriage to Martha McGee at the Henderson Church of Christ. They lived on the family farm where Ron farmed until 2010, when he retired. Ron continued to live on the farm until the time of his death.
Ron was a member of the Griswold Central Church of Christ where he served as a deacon and taught Sunday School. Ron enjoyed restoring and showing cars, especially 57 Fords and his Hellcat Charger. He was a good mechanic and body man. Ron enjoyed riding motorcycles and had served on the Griswold School Board. He and Martha liked traveling, and had traveled to Australia, Canada, Alaska, Canada, and most of the middle-United States. Recently, Ron and Martha had enjoyed spending their winters in Arizona.
Ron is preceded in death by his parents and his sister-in-law Bonnie.
He is survived by his wife Martha of Griswold, IA; his sons, Tim Mundorf and wife Kristi of LaVista, NE and Mike Mundorf and wife Dee of Griswold, IA; his grandchildren: Katherine Byrne and husband Jacob of Omaha, NE, Victoria Mundorf of Lincoln, NE, Julia Marie Wetterlind and husband Mark of Red Oak, IA, Mary Jo Hackett and husband Casey of Shadow, AZ, Kaitlyn Cudd and husband Jake of Carter Lake, IA, Jacob Jundorf and wife Grace of Council Bluffs, IA, and Hope and Olivia Kinser of Oakland, IA; seven grandchildren: his brothers Mervin Mundorf of Falcon, CO, Charlie Mundorf and wife Nancy of Beaver Lake, NE, Gary Mundorf and wife Nancy of Griswold, IA, and Marty Mundorf and wife Anita of Atlantic, IA; and his sister Carol Mundorf and husband Matthew Lalumia of Baltimore, MD. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services will be on Friday, July 30, 2021, at 10:30 AM, at the Griswold Central Church of Christ. Visitation with the family will be on Thursday, July 29, 2021, from 5:30 until 7:30 at the Griswold Central Church of Christ. Interment will be in the Griswold Cemetery. Rieken Duhn Funeral Home in Griswold is assisting the family.
