(Atlantic) SHIFT ATL served 372 people at their annual fundraiser on Saturday night in downtown Atlantic. Jessie Shiels, SHIFT ATL president, speaking at the event, says the group started in late spring 2019 with a mission to revitalize Atlantic through projects, services, and programs to enhance the community with development and growth.
Shiels says a team of contractors are currently working on the upper level of the Telegraph building which will be a two-bedroom, one bathroom, short-term rental Airbnb, with the completion slated for late this summer.
The funds raised for this first annual event will help support the group in filling their funding gap to complete the renovations at their 14 E 4th Street project. Tickets were $50/person and $350.00 for a table of eight. This included dinner and entry to the dueling pianos.
The Cocktail hour started at 5:30, followed by a dinner of steak or pork grilled on location and family-style sides and dessert.
