(Walnut) A Nebraska man suffered injuries in a two-vehicle crash in the westbound lanes near the 49-mile mark on Interstate 80.
The Iowa State Patrol says the accident happened at around 5:43 p.m. According to State Police, 52-year old Juan A. Rodriguez of Plattsmouth, Nebraska, was injured in the crash.
According to the report, a westbound 2010 Jeep Patriot driven by Rodriquez was stopped on the shoulder and had just re-entered the roadway and was struck in the rear by a westbound 2012 Freightliner semi-driven 54-year old Marion G. Killingsworth of Decatur, Illinois.
Midwest Air transported Rodriquez to the University of Nebraska Medicine for treatment of injuries.
The accident is still under investigation.
