Expertise.com is a top resource for online reviews, and the best local experts published a new study on the best states for drivers in 2021. The group surveyed 17 metrics to calculate an overall score and ranks for three categories-safety, car ownership and maintenance costs, and traffic and infrastructure conditions. The report analyzed factors like traffic fatalities per capita, average gas prices, and weather conditions. Final scores were measured based on a 10-point scale and weighted average of each state.
Iowa topped the list, 2nd, Vermont, 3rd Nebraska, 4th, Ohio, and 5th Maine. The five worst states for drivers included; Colorado, Florida, Maryland, New Jersey, with California revealed as the worst state for drivers.
