(Cumberland) The CAM FFA banquet is scheduled for Saturday, March 20, at the Cumberland Community Building. FFA Members earning awards for the 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 school year will be recognized.
Emily Plagman, CAM FFA Treasurer, says the social starts at 5:30 p.m., free-will donation meal at 6:00 p.m., with awards at 7:00 p.m.
Paige Jensen, retiring Southwest District Reporter, runs down the list of some of the awards.
Jensen says the FFA Alumni is sponsoring a silent auction.
Glenn Brunkow, a writer and fifth-generation farmer and rancher from the northern Flint Hills of Kansas, is the keynote speaker. Mallory Behnken, President of the CAM FFA, says Brunkow writes a bi-weekly column in the Midwest Messenger titled “Dust on the Dashboard.”
Reflecting on this past year, Behnken admits the group accomplished a lot despite the pandemic.
As far as FFA is concerned, Emily Plagman, a senior, says FFA has helped her grow in many different ways.
The public is invited to attend, and RSVPs are not required but encouraged by calling Melissa Becker at 712-309-1624 or Jodi Scholl at 712-249-9709.
