(Greenfield) The Nodaway Valley boys led by double figures for most of the final three quarters in their 72-49 victory at SW Valley on Tuesday. The Wolverines had four scorers in double figures led by a game high 20 from Boston DeVault.
The sophomore buried four 3-pointers on the night including one that pushed the lead to ten at halftime, 41-31. In addition to DeVault’s 20 points, Mason Menefee scored 17, Toby Bower 15, and Avery Phillippi 12. The visitors were 15/19 at the line on the night.
“They hit a lot of shots. In the first have I think they hit five three’s from four different players.” Nodaway Valley co-head coach James Larson said after the game, “We let them in the game right away and they stayed with it. Credit to them they hit some shots and we didn’t go out there and guard them. We have to be better defensively.”
Nodaway Valley is 7-5 on the season. Co-head coach Darrell Burmeister is four wins away from career victory #600. SW Valley dips to 4-10. Tucker TePoel and Gabe Fuller each scored 12 points with TePoel grabbing 8 rebouds.
