(Riverton) A Riverton, Iowa man faces numerous drug charges following a traffic stop in Fremont County.
Fremont County Sheriff Kevin Aistrope says Deputies stopped a 2005 Cadillac Escalade driven by 39-year old Joshua Martin for a traffic violation on Monday at around 7:52 p.m. in the 2300 block of 250th Street near Riverton.
During the traffic stop, the Fremont County K9 Unit deployed K9 Danken, who alerted to controlled substances in the vehicle. Martin refused to cooperate during the traffic stop and attempted to flee the scene; however, his vehicle became disabled in the snow a few yards from the traffic stop.
Martin was placed under arrest for:
- Interference with Official Acts, a Simple Misdemeanor
- Possession of Methamphetamine, a Serious Misdemeanor
- Possession of Marijuana, a Serious Misdemeanor
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a Simple Misdemeanor
- Eluding, a Serious Misdemeanor
Martin is being held on a $3,600 bond.
