(Audubon) Students in Audubon this year have been attending school four days per week and that format will continue through the rest of the semester.
The Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday structure has been well received. Wednesday’s are used a remote learning day and that setup is sticking around for the time being. “Wednesdays are used for a remote learning day however we have a lot of students that are coming in if they need a little extra help or are getting behind on their work. We are using Wednesdays for our deep clean. It’s really had some benefits for us so we are going to continue that through first semester.”
Superintendent Eric Trager notes some have even suggested keeping Wednesday’s as a remote learning day for next year too, but the district isn’t ready to make that move just yet.
In other news the district’s final enrollment numbers are lower. “We are down 20 which is not good news for the district however I would say one year does not make a trend. This puts us back at levels we were at about two years ago. We aren’t happy about it, but we aren’t particularly concerned. It’s just a dip, at least we hope that’s all it is.” Trager explains several other districts have seen a decline as well amid the pandemic.
