(Southwest Iowa) Portions of Southwest and west-central Iowa remain under severe drought conditions.
According to the latest U.S Drought Monitor index, the counties of Pottawattamie, Cass, Audubon, Guthrie, Shelby, Harrison, the northwest portion of Adair County, and all of Carroll County are under a severe drought index.
These conditions can produce extremely low yields and higher fire danger. Burn bans remain in effect for Cass and Audubon counties. Meanwhile, burn bans have been lifted for Adair and Guthrie Counties.
Most of the state is experiencing some sort type of drought conditions.
