(Atlantic) The Cass County Sheriff’s Office has received a report of a scam call that comes up on a person’s caller ID as Cass County.
The Sheriff’s Office says upon answering, the scammer claims they’ve received a report of misuse of social security numbers and goes on to ask the last four of those numbers. Upon refusal, the scammer will try to say they’ll have to put a warrant out for said person’s arrest.
The Sheriff’s Office said they would never cold-call someone to ask for their social security number or other personal information.
