(Anita) CAM Schools Superintendent Paul Croghan discussed the extension of the USDA’s summer meal program at Monday’s School Board meeting.
On August 31, the Secretary of Agriculture’s Office announced several allowing meal program operators to continue serving free meals to all children through the fall.
“It was nice to report to the board on Monday, that we utilized the extension of the summer food program so all students can eat at no charge,” said Croghan. “All students under the age of 18 are eligible for this program, and as of now, all students will eat for free, with the exception of extra milk and items like that. This will help our families, and our hot lunch program because the meals are completely reimbursable.”
Croghan says the program continues until December 31, or until the money runs out.
