(Des Moines) The average price of gasoline is up slightly this week.
Price rose $.03 cents from last week’s price and $.34 lower than one year ago. The price of unleaded gasoline in Iowa averaged $2.09 across Iowa, according to AAA.
The price of global crude oil rose this week on the West Texas Intermediate by $.72 per barrel over last week, currently priced at $43.35. Brent crude oil rose $.65 and is currently priced at $45.75. One year ago, West Texas Intermediate crude oil sold for $53.64, and Brent Crude sold for $62.46.
Retail diesel prices in Iowa rose $.02 this week with a statewide average of $2.23. One year ago, diesel prices averaged $2.79 in Iowa. The current statewide diesel price is $.19 cents less than the national average of $2.42.
Wholesale ethanol prices fell $.02, currently at $1.29. The price of Natural Gas rose another 18 cents this week, currently priced at $2.59.
