(Red Oak) The Red Oak Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire Thursday evening.
The call came in at approximately 6:57 p.m. of a fire on the exterior of a home located at 909 E. Coolbaugh Street. The home owner had been conducting some exterior work to the residence and went inside, but smelt smoke a short time later. A neighbor sprayed water with a garden hose prior to the fire department’s arrival. Firefighters were able to assist with ventilating the smoke out of the house.
The fire did not reach the interior of the home and damage was limited to shingles. No injuries were reported.
