(Atlantic) June is the month of the D.J., and KSOM/KS95 News features a D.J. who is a master at his craft.
Frank Rizzo is the morning drive personality and Program Director at KSOM Radio. Frank is quick-witted, possessing all the technical skills, and passion for his job. Frank figured out his career path early in life.
Frank Rizzo is in his 20th year in the business. He earned his Associate’s Degree in Radio Performance at Iowa Western Community College. Before landing the job at KSOM Radio 13-years ago, before that he worked at stations in Burlington, and Omaha, and recently taught radio performance at his alma mater.
Rizzo signs on at 6:00 a.m. Monday through Friday.
The job isn’t without its challenges. When asked about the strangest thing that’s happened while broadcasting Rizzo recalls an incident early in his career.
Frank is one of the best in the business. However, his best attribute is his dedication to his family and community. Frank is married to Shiloh, and they have two daughters, Coretta, 8 ½, and Frankie, 6 ½. Frank is very active in his church and community.
