(Red Oak) One person suffered minor injuries in a two-vehicle accident in Red Oak this morning.
The Red Oak Police Department says officers were called to the intersection of W Oak Street and N Broadway at approximately 11:27 a.m. Upon arrival and investigation, officers found that 96 year old Paul Roby, of Red Oak, was driving a 2002 Toyota Camry eastbound on West Oak Street when he entered the intersection and lost control of his vehicle. The vehicle turned sharply to the south and struck a 2018 Ford F150 head-on. The F150 was facing northbound on N Broadway and was at a complete stop at the red stop light. Witnesses stated that Roby was traveling well over the 25 mph speed limit.
Paul Roby was transported by Red Oak Rescue to the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital. The driver of the Ford F-150, 73-year-old Clinton Sunderman of Clarinda, was not injured.
No citations have been issued at this time. The Red Oak Police Department was assisted by Red Oak Fire and Rescue and the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.
