(Massena) The Massena Chamber decided this week to postpone the community’s July 4 celebration to Labor Day Weekend.
“We’re postponing for people’s safety, and maybe by the end of the summer, we can have a celebration,” said Massena City Councilman Doug Venteicher.
All festivities, including the parade, are moved to September 5, and the Massena Firemen are working out the details for a possible dance that same weekend.
The Massena City Council met on Monday night. Venteicher says a contractor and City crews continue tile work on the south end of Main Street to correct issues with runoff. Additionally, the Council passed a resolution to begin taking bids for the new Lagoon project.
