(Area) From Riverside’s pair of state qualifying teams to AHSTW’s record setting class of 2019, the area has been graced with some very quality soccer programs. Atlantic, AHSTW, Harlan, Riverside, and Nodaway Valley are the current teams in our coverage area that offer soccer. Nodaway Valley had their own program up until the 2019 season when they began a sharing agreement with West Central Valley.
Listed in today’s feature are yearly leaders in Goals, Assists, and Saves for the above listed teams. Harlan has been among the teams with the most highlights. The Cyclones own a state tourney appearance in 2006 and have won the Hawkeye Ten Conference three times since 2010.

Coach Julius Michalik’s squad lost a 3-0 match to eventual runner-up Norwalk in the first round.
Riverside: 2 (2013 and 2014)
John Thomas guided the Bulldogs to back-to-back trips. They lost 4-0 to Iowa City Regina in their first state meet appearance and dropped a 6-1 match to Mid-Prairie the following year. Key personnel on those Riverside squads included Malachi Dillon, Tucker Bluml, Tanner Ford, Michael Bertacini, Travis Henningsen, Brady Ryun, David Andersen, and others.
