(Mills Co.) Mills County Public Health today confirmed one new case of COVID-19. The new case is an adult, in the age range of 41-60 years, and the virus was contracted through community spread.
The total number of confirmed positive cases in Mills County is 13. Nine individuals have recovered. 341 people have been tested.
The Recovered Cases are cases that have met the criteria for no longer needing isolation or public health monitoring. Criteria for these cases are set by the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and are as follows:
- No fever for at least 72 hours (that is three full days of no fever without the use of medicine that reduces fevers) AND
- Other symptoms have improved (for example, when cough or shortness of breath have improved) AND
- At least 10 days have passed since symptoms first appeared.
These time frames are based on the time of symptoms starting, NOT of receiving a positive test confirmation.
Officials continue to encourage residents to continue to use good judgment in the decisions they make. All residents are urged to stay home as much as possible, stay away from groups of people and maintain a 6-foot distance from other individuals. Residents are reminded to continue to practice social distancing, wash your hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue or elbow/upper arm and stay at home when you are ill.
