(Hamburg) A Fremont County man faces charges connected with an assault in a gas station parking lot in Hamburg.
The Fremont County Sheriff’s Office arrested 25-year old Michael Haughton of Hamburg on Friday. Authorities transported him to the Fremont County Jail, where he is charged with assault while displaying a weapon and willful injury. His bond is $3,000, 10-percent after an initial appearance in front of a Magistrate.
The arrest stems from an incident on May 9. The Fremont County Sheriff’s Office responded to a man bleeding at a Hamburg gas station parking lot. The victim, who suffered severe injuries, stated two men assaulted him with a blunt object.
According to the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office, this is Haughton’s 18th arrest in Fremont County since November of 2016. At the time of the alleged assault, Authorities released Haughton from Jail on his recognizance, for violating a no-contact order.
More charges are pending in this case.
