(Davenport) The Iowa Department of Transportation driver’s service center located in Davenport closed today after notification that an employee in that location has tested positive for COVID-19. The service center will be closed until May 19 for thorough cleaning and sanitization of the facility, as well as to allow all employees in that location time to self-isolate.
Iowa DOT is working with the Iowa Department of Public Health to follow contact tracing protocols for anyone who may have had exposure to the affected individual.
Customers who have appointments for service during the closure will be notified of their options for receiving service.
The Iowa DOT has taken a variety of steps to protect the health and safety of customers and staff in their facilities. All service centers are serving customers by appointment only to assist with social distancing. Before entering facilities, customers are asked a series of questions to help determine their exposure to COVID-19. In addition, all facilities are being cleaned regularly, including the sanitization of high touch areas between customers. Employees are wearing PPE and plexiglass has been installed on service centers desks to serve as a barrier between the customer and staff member serving them.
