(Sioux City) Isaac Bower’s freshman football season at Morningside resulted in the Mustangs winning an NAIA National Championship. The CAM alum says he’s enjoyed building lifelong friendships with teammates and coaches.
Bower saw action in a few different capacities for a 14-0 Morningside team that scored at least 50 points in nine games and pitched four shutouts. “I got to play a little bit of special teams. Late in the games when we were up by a lot I got to go in and get some of that experience that will help during the later years. I got to play a lot of JV games as well.”
He’s an outside linebacker which he says fits his style. “After playing linebacker my freshman and sophomore year with 11-man and then coming to CAM with 8-man and playing linebacker it really fit the natural playing ability that I have.”
Bower eyes some of his goals moving forward both as a team and individually. Of course the team would like to repeat the success they’ve had plus, “A goal for me is definitely getting on the field more. Especially on special teams for next year.”
Bower was one of three freshmen from the immediate coverage area on the Morningside team this season joined by Aaron Allen (Exira-EHK) and Drake Partridge (AHSTW).
