(Iowa City) The University of Iowa has snagged one of the most impressive athletes in Western Iowa for their 2021 recruiting class. OABCIG junior Cooper DeJean revealed his decision to commit to the Hawkeye football program on Tuesday.
DeJean is a three-star recruit according to both Rivals and 247Sports. He led the Falcons to a Class 2A State Football Championship this past fall. He passed for 3,546 yards with 42 touchdowns and ran for 1,292 yards with 24 scores. He also registered 34 tackles on defense with five interceptions. He ran back two of his picks for touchdowns and was dangerous on special teams with an average of 30 yards per kickoff return and 22.3 yards per punt return.
DeJean also stars for OABCIG in basketball, track, and baseball. This past winter he averaged 25.6 points, 7.7 rebounds, 4.2 assists, and 3.5 steals per game.
