(Sioux Falls) The University of South Dakota women’s basketball team swept the major awards announced this week by the Summitt League.
The Coyotes produced the Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, Sixth Woman of the Year, and Coach of the Year. Harlan’s Taylor Frederick was named the Sixth Woman of the Year. She also earned honorable mention all-conference honors.
Frederick, an Earling native, averaged career highs in scoring and rebounding at 10 points and 4.4 rebounds per game. Her 55% field goal shooting was also a career best.
USD is ranked 17th in the nation with a 27-2 record. They begin the conference tournament on Sunday against Omaha in Sioux Falls. The Coyotes only losses this season are to #22 Missouri State which won the Missouri Valley Conference and #6 South Carolina.
