(Audubon) The $7.5 million Audubon School bond issue passed with 271 voting Yes and 119 voting No.
“We’re really excited that we got a passing vote,” said Superintendent Eric Trager. “We had a little over 69-percent vote in favor of the project and a pretty decent voter turnout and so I guess for us this means that we’ve got public support to move ahead with our project and we’re excited to get going on it.”
Trager said they have a contract signed with a construction manager and an architect already; those were signed early on pending approval of this bond election.
“We’ll begin to work with them on the design and engineering phase of the project and our goal is to be ready to go out to bids late fall, around that November/December time frame we’ll be able to go out to bids for the entire project,” said Trager. “Construction will take place the summer of 2021.”
The referendum will fund the model, repair and improvement of the Middle School and High School building.
