(Audubon) The Audubon County Board of Supervisors has approved $200,000 in future TIF funds to be used for a trail resurfacing project.
The moves allows Audubon County Conservation Director Bruce Haag to obtain matching funds and use it on the T-Bone Trail. Board of Supervisor’s Chairman Rick Thompson comments on the importance of the trail in Audubon County.
“It gets a lot of use. They are hoping to access to Audubon, Exira, and Brayton by keeping it in good shape. A lot of people utilize it. We want to make it more accessible to the towns as well as people that want to ride bikes and walk.”
He says the trail is in good shape right now and this money will be used to keep it that way.
“The trail is in pretty good shape I think. Bruce Haag has said they want to put a rejuvenator on it eventually which hopefully will help fill in the cracks and give more longevity to the trial.”
The T-Bone trail spans 21 miles along Highway 71 extending from the City of Audubon south into Cass County.
