(Dallas County) One person was killed in a two-vehicle accident in Dallas County.
The Iowa State Patrol says the accident happened at around 7:25 p.m., Thursday on eastbound Interstate 80 near the 117-mile marker. Authorities say 36-year old Felipe Dirzo of Columbus Junction, Iowa, was killed in the crash. Daryl Jones, 53, of Grovetown, Georgia, was hurt.
State Police say an eastbound 2020 Volvo semi driven by Jones rear-ended an eastbound 1993 Volvo truck driven by Dirzo. Dirzo’s truck rolled on its side into the ditch. Jones semi came to rest upright on the left side of the roadway.
Dirzo was transported to the State Medical Examiner’s Office. Jones was transported by private vehicle.
