(Harlan) Shelby County Engineer Brandon Burmeister says the snowplows were out bright and early Friday clearing the 127- miles of paved roads in the county. Burmeister says they were trying to stay ahead of the snow.
Burmeister says they’re waiting on the snow accumulation before sending the 12 road graders out to clear the 650-miles of gravel roads in the county. “We’re waiting to see what the weather does and take care of it as we see fit,” said Burmeister.
Burmeister says the snowplows will hit the paved roads again tomorrow morning. “We’ll see how it crusts and will blast the drifts off the gravel roads if there isn’t much snow blowing around,” said Burmeister. “If the snow is blowing around we’ll have to play it by ear.”
Burmeister advises motorists to adhere to safe driving conditions and if you don’t have to be out to stay inside.
