(Audubon) The final design for phase two of a sewer project has been approved by the Audubon City Council.
City Clerk Joe Foran says JEO presented final designs which had to be approved before going out for bidding. “Some more televising of our sewer lines and what will be nice about that is we’ll have everything throughout town televised which will be nice to refer back to. We’ll have we’re going to do some more CIPP lining and then there are some spot repairs in other areas. W are going to be pretty up to snuff after the project is over.”
The council also approved a pay application for 250 new water meters and agreed to assist Vision Iowa in securing funds for a sidewalk project connecting the high school and rec center.
“They have identified two Iowa DOT grant opportunities to fund a sidewalk going across the high school property going to the rec center. Unfortunately they cannot qualify to apply for the grant. The city can so they were just asking for approval for us to sponsor the application.”
A half dozen resolutions were approved. Drew Christensen was approved as a fire department member and Tyler Thygesen approved as fire chief. Thygesen has been appointed to the Board of Adjustments. Bill Christensen, Neil Elmquist, and Tom Testrote were appointed to the Planning and Zoning Board. The council also approved resolutions for Economic Development transfer of fund and four gas monitors for the fire department.
