Liberty, Missouri wins Council Bluffs Wrestling Classic; Underwood, 8th, Atlantic/CAM 22nd

(Council Bluffs) Liberty, Missouri captured the team title at the two-day Council Bluffs Wrestling Classic with 565.5 points, Millard, South claimed second place, and Fort Dodge finished third.

The tournament consisted of 40-teams from five states competing at the Mid-American Center in Council Bluffs on Friday and Saturday.

The wrestlers were seeded into five-man pools for a round-robin on Friday. The top-two wrestlers from each pool advanced to the Gold brackets, while the third and fourth-place wrestlers advanced to the silver brackets.

Underwood finished eighth overall with 323.5 points. The Eagles crowned two champions; Gable Porter, (106) and Nick Hamilton, (145). Stevie Barnes, (120), finished 3rd, Logan James, (138), stood 4th, and Blake Thomsen, (152) finished fifth.

Atlantic/CAM finished 22nd overall. The Trojans were led by Cale Roller’s, (285), fourth-place finish. Aybren Moore, (113), finished eighth.
