(Council Bluffs) The Council Bluffs Classic Wrestling Tournament featuring 41 teams from five states will compete today and tomorrow at the Mid-American Center in Council Bluffs.
The wrestlers will be seeded into five-man pools today for a round-robin. The top-two wrestlers from each pool advance to the Gold brackets, while the third and fourth place wrestlers advance to the Silver brackets.
Atlantic/CAM Head Coach Tim Duff says this is the most difficult tournament his team will compete in all season. He says three teams competing this weekend are ranked in the top 50 in the nation. Those top teams include; Liberty, north of Kansas City, Millard South, and Fort Dodge.
Duff says the Trojans have to come out and compete.
The tournament gets underway at 1:00 p.m. today at the Mid-American Center in Council Bluffs. Wrestling starts at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
