(Council Bluffs) Two people were arrested following a pursuit in Pottawattamie County Sunday afternoon.
The Pottawattamie County Sheriff’s Office said Sgt. Marc Freeman was dispatched to assist with a home invasion that occurred in the 2800 block of 8th Avenue at around 2:30 p.m. While driving to this location, Sgt. Freeman was advised of a possible second address that the suspect might be going to in the area of the 1300 block of Avenue B. Sgt. Freeman was in the area of Broadway and 8th Street when he noticed a vehicle matching the description of the suspect vehicle. He initiated a traffic stop and at that time the vehicle took off at a high rate of speed. The pursuit went on for several blocks until the suspect car lost control and two occupants were taken into custody. They were identified as 31-year-old Melissa Cook, of Council Bluffs, and 30-year-old Ryan Glasebrook, of Omaha.
The joint investigation led to Eluding, Drug and Theft charges. Authorities seized 1.6 grams of Methamphetamine, Medical Pills, Glass Pipes, and a Bong. A 2011 Dodge Charger was recovered.
In other activity, the Sheriff’s Office arrested 22-year-old Kay Dilley, of Pisgah, on Saturday on warrants for Theft 5th, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and four counts of Forgery. During the same traffic stop, 25-year-old Kyle Smith, of Council Bluffs, was arrested for Driving under Suspension. He was also cited for No Insurance, Expired Plates, and Failure to Stop.
Colin Peterson, 19, of Griswold, was arrested Friday following a traffic stop at 430th and Highway 92 for Driving While Barred.
