CONTEST Description

The Meredith Communications KSOM KSWI Western Iowa Today “Great $5,000 Local Winners Giveaway” contest takes place between Monday September 23, 2024 and Friday January 31, 2025. There will be five rounds of the contest where one participant will win a cash prize of $1,000.  The contest time periods are:

• September 23, 2024-October 18, 2024
• October 21, 2024-November 15, 2024
• December 2, 2024-December 13, 2024
• December 30, 2024-January 10, 2025
• January 13, 2025-January 31, 2025

To participate you will need to listen to KSOM or KSWI Radio Stations during specified contest times, notate a special “Keyword” which will be announced at specified contest times and then enter the keyword at the entry form located on westerniowatoday.com.  You may only enter each Keyword one time. You may enter more than one keyword during the duration of the contest to increase your chance to win.  A random entry from all valid entries will be drawn and declared the winner of $1,000 at the end of each contest period.  There will be a total of 5, $1,000 winners during the contest.

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY.  Must be 18 to enter.  Participants may only enter each “keyword” one time but may enter multiple keywords during the duration of the contest.  Contest prizes are not transferable and may not be substituted.

If the listener does not have internet access and wishes to participate, they may do so by filling out their Full legal name, address including city and state and phone number along with the keyword on a 4×6 index card and either hand deliver the card or mail it to the Meredith Communications Studios at 413 Chestnut Street – Atlantic, IA 50022 Attn: $5,000 Local Winner Giveaway.

ELIGIBILITY RESTRICTIONS
1. Contest is open to all Iowa residents inside the KSOM-FM 60db listening area unless otherwise specified by station management.
2. Contest winners must have a social security number to participate in the contest.
3. Employees of Meredith Communications, its subsidiaries, affiliates, general sponsors, advertisers, employees of other southwest iowa electronic and print media, family members, and members of their immediate households are ineligible to participate or win.
4. No purchase is necessary to participate.
5. The contest is void where prohibited or restricted by law.
6. The contest is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
7. By participating in this contest, entrants agree to these official rules and accept decisions by Meredith Communications as final.
LEGAL CONDITIONS
8. Payment of all applicable taxes is the sole responsibility of the winners. Winners may be required to sign an IRS form or the equivalent based upon the retail value of the prize.
9. By participating in the contests, listeners and the contest winners agree to have their name, voice, or likeness used in any advertising or broadcasting material relating to this contest, and must sign a publicity release prior to acceptance of the prize. By entering the contest, you agree to comply with Official Rules and with the decisions of the sponsors, which shall be final and binding in all aspects relating to the contest.
10. Contest winner will be required to sign a liability release prior to acceptance of any prize valued at $500.00 or greater. Pursuant to the liability release, the winners agree to hold the Meredith Communications, and their subsidiaries, affiliates, general sponsors, promotional partners, owners, officers, shareholders, directors, employees, agents and representatives harmless against any and all claims or liability, directly or indirectly related to or arising from the contest winner’s participation in this contest.
11. Failure of a contestant to comply with the contest rules may result in a contestant disqualification.
12. Prize must be picked up at Meredith Communications, 413 Chestnut Street, Atlantic Iowa 50022.  Winner will be required to provide positive identification and a social security number.

13. Only one $1,000 prize may be won by any particular household.  Winners of one of the $1,000 prizes are ineligible to win again during the duration of the contest.

14. All decisions by Meredith Communications management regarding any aspect of the contest are final.
