Free Community Screening of Chasing Childhood
The Atlantic Public Library will be hosting a free community screening of Chasing Childhood on Thursday, May 4 at 6 pm. The film is about 90 minutes long.
Chasing Childhood is a feature length documentary that explores how the lack of free play and independence has led to record rates of anxiety and depression in children and teens, a situation now compounded by the pandemic. Free play, unsupervised by adults, is critical for developing essential life skills: grit, independence, and resourcefulness. Many young adults may appear more accomplished on paper, but by the time they get to college they are emotionally struggling and lacking the tools needed to live independently.
This film is being shown through special arrangement with Roco films. More information about the film can be found online at chasingchildhooddoc.com.
