(Blencoe) A two-vehicle accident injured three people in Monona County.
The Iowa State Patrol says the accident happened at 10:47 p.m. on Thursday in the northbound lanes of Interstate 29 near the 108-mile marker. Authorities identified the injured persons as 57-year old Michael Robert Gavigan, of Golden Valley, Minnesota, 22-year old Fernando Rafael Romero of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, and 20-year old Timothy Wayne Tracy of Council Bluffs.
According to the report, a northbound 2006 Chevy PC driven by Timothy Tracy went out of control and struck a 2017 Ford Truck driven by Gavigan. Both vehicles crossed the median and came to rest partially in the left lane of southbound I-29.
Burgess Onawa transported Gavigan, Romero, and Tracy to Burgess Hospital in Onawa.
The Monona County Sheriff’s Office, the Blencoe Police Department, and Burgess Rescue assisted the Iowa State Patrol.
