(Audubon) The Audubon softball team will be featured on KSOM tonight. The Wheelers open up their season at Riverside.
Coach Eric Borkowski says the team is ready to roll. “I think we are ready to go. There are some hurdles to adjust to, but we’ll go out and play the game and hopefully we come out on top of things.”
Coach Borkowski identifies some of the positives he’s seen in the two weeks of practice leading up to the season. “A lot of good things between our middle infielders Mallory Riebhoff and Sydney Beymer. They worked a lot together last year and things seem to be clicking the first two weeks of practice. In the outfield Katelyn Nielsen and Leah Subbert are communicating and doing a lot of good things.
Riverside is expected to be a contender in the Western Iowa Conference race which make’s Audubon’s opener a big challenge.
“Coach Chris Conover does a great job. He gets his girls ready to go every game no matter who it is. You never know what teams are going to be like this early with how few of practices we’ve had.”
Pregame coverage comes your way at around 7:15 p.m. The rest of our broadcast calendar for the week has Atlantic softball hosting Denison-Schleswig on KS95.7 tomorrow night, Coon Rapids-Bayard at Audubon baseball on KSOM Wednesday, and Atlantic baseball against Clarinda on Thursday on KS95.7.
